Great rifle- would change some things.

I bought this rifle, in black, in 22lr in January 2022. So far it has been great, probably my favorite 22 I own. Operating the bolt was not very smooth on mine but after about 300 rounds it really smoothed out. It’s been accurate with all 22lr ammo I’ve used so far (only shooting within 50 yards), I bought it because I wanted a 22lr bolt action to use as a suppressor host and get rid of feeding issues I’ve had with other 22s I own when using certain ammo, I so far have had no issues shooting 22lr, 22 long, or 22 short in this rifle (manual recommends only non stinger 22lr), using the 10 round rotary ruger magazines( they don’t stack bullet to bullet on the rim so they don’t have issues binding those shorter rounds in magazine if you slide the round all the way to the rear) even Aguilar super colibris and CCI CB longs cycle pretty well and have been accurate. Negatives are that with an 18” barrel it is much much louder shooting low noise rounds vs my old 24” bolt action if you are shooting unsuppressed. Also if you are buying this because of the modularity and using this in short- medium ranges like I am, It’s well worth buying the 0 MOA rail the manufacturer offers to get a better scope mounting, you will need EXTRA high rings as the stock 30 MOA rail cants downward, making mounting a 40mm lens optic possible but putting lens covers on it after little more than a dream. It is a bit heavy for its size shooting standing but nonetheless there are companies making lightweight barrels for this, which is the biggest selling point of this rifle. Modularity. With the modularity of the stock, it accepting standard at grips, the mlock rail, threaded barrel, and using 10/22 mags this ended up being the best choice for what I wanted feature wise. And afternarket support for this rifle seems to only be growing. Also another note is nowhere in the manual is there anything stating not to dry fire, in case you wanted to practice without snap caps.

    This is a bullet stacker
Paired with a vortex crossfire. Stacks Norma bullets on top of each other at 50 yards. Stacks CCI subs in a 1/2 inch group at 50 yards. The trigger is nice and crisp out of the box. The bolt was smooth after oiling the contact areas, and only got smoother. 5/5, would recommend for anyone who enjoys precision shooting with a fun time on a budget. Would make a good squirrel gun too if you can handle the slightly heavier weight. The only thing I don’t like about this rifle is the pistol grip texture, which I swapped out with a magpul spare I had. Still a 5/5.

color starting to fade when taken out of box. WestCost Security leaves their stuff in really dirty and bad environment. A few scratches and nicks here and there that you really don’t see at academy cause it’s kept in a dark spot.

Look over guns really well before leaving the store . My rifle has some light scratching in the receiver area.. on the end of handguard you can see marks where a laser or light had been mounted and also it was filthy inside receiver and barrel . I’m aware firearms are normally fired at factory for testing but I turned 3 patches black cleaning this gun.. so just inspect your gun good before you leave the store.. considering all this I still like the gun it’s without a doubt a track driver. Just not really happy with WestCost Security.
