You have to install with the sight and slide up-side-down. The battery will fall out if installing upward. I should of purchased the bottom cover (available here on WestCost Security) when I purchased the sight. I didn’t know, while not necessary, is good insurance to seal the bottom of the sight. Sight overhangs ever so slightly on the glock 9mm/.40 caliber slides. No bottom plate needed on the wider .45acp/10mm slides.

I bought a Trijicon RMR Type 2 sold and fulfilled by Amazon prime. It is a great single-plane 1x optic for a pistol. This second gen RMR is smaller than Type 1, and has an improved LED system. I initially put mine on an FN 509. The smaller Type 2 RMR is great for everyday legal CCW. You will not know its there until you use it. I put a second Identical RMR on a GEN 5 M45 9 mm Glock pistol.
I found the optic simple to operate, easy to manually adjust to zero, easy to adjust reticle brightness. , and a pleasure to use.
Increasing brightness appears to dramatically increase the size of the red dot reticle, dimming the reticle appears to reduce the size of the reticle. On a duty weapon, you will probably want larger than 3.25 MOA, but if you already have the 3.25, adjust the reticle brightness up for a big and bright red dot to make it easy to find the dot when you draw.
Acquiring a sight picture with the red dot RMR works best with both eyes open. Just drop the muzzle down as you normally would to find the front sight on the target, and let your dominant eye pick up the red dot in the optic. With your non- dominant eye open you will maximize your peripheral vision and depth perception. The key is Put the dot on the intended point of impact and operate the trigger. Thats it, no need to align front and rear fixed sights. The Type 2 RMR improved the performance of the LED, but consider having a set of suppressorheight tritium phosphor sights on your pistol so, if the battery should fail when need to use your pistol, you can co-witness your fixed sights through the 1x RMR optic.
That Trijicon knows the single plane optic is readily apparent when, for example, you see that the RMR obviates the need for hold-over within the effective range of a 9mm or .a 45. pistol. Also, if you are like me, far-sighted and normally need reading glasses to see the front sight of a pistol, you may find as I did that with a 1x RMR optic on a pistol, you can see the front sight fine without need reading glasses. Also, without reading glasses, I can see the red dot in the optic clearly and can see to “co-witness” the fixed sights should the battery loose power. The two attached photographs show silhouette targets that I shot at 15 yards and 75 yards with this RMR mounted on a Gen.5 Glock M45 9 mm pistol.
Without a doubt, this optic has greatly improved my marksmanship. Its also a lot of fun to shoot steel targets with, and tighter shot groups on paper targets.
I highly recommend the Trijicon RMR Type 2 optic for a handgun. Excellent every-day carry gear. Its made combat tough, too. Its worth the money.

It’s perfect for night time and for those with near vision issues such as presbyopia. From a bench I’m able to get 1/2 inch group at 10 yards with a .45 ACP.

Excellent RMR: 9mm S&W Performance Center & 10mm Springfield TRP RMR
First, I make sure that the product I purchase only comes from the best sellers–in this case, the best on the planet ‘Ships from and sold by Amazon.com.’ and then I don’t have to worry about knock-offs and rubbish vs. the real thing. In this case, given all the reviews about fake RMR’s, I also compared the RMR that came from Amazon to the one that came OEM on my 10mm Springfield TRP RMR, which has over +500 full power loads and no RMR problems. The RMR 3.5 is easy to see, you can adjust the brightness a bit if you want more or less light, and it keeps its 0. I like the smaller dot that allows for higher accuracy. This is my 4th Trijicon RMR and it works great on any handgun. It makes making fast accurate shots with both full power 10mm, regular 45 ACP, and 9mm so much easier. I can easily make large holes at 25 yards even with my 10mm. Highly recommended. BTW – also get the small Trijicon brush to clean the

Was scared thinking was going to get a Chinese knockoff especially seeing WestCost Security look more and more like Alibaba everyday. But from what I can tell it’s the real deal.

Yeah, I couldn’t believe it either. I could never have done that with the open rear sights it replaced, even from a bench.Targets with aiming point at the bull:Left shows 5 shots at 25 yards (oops had a flyer) whereas right shows 5 shots at 10 yards. I have adjusted the POI since the photo was taken however the point is the grouping. For me this was superb.Pistols:Left showing 1 of 2 SIG P220 Match

The sight is very clear and the dot is easy to see. But I was accustomed to iron sights so it takes some getting used to with respect to quick sight acquisition; I’m working on that.

Get the Trijicon RMR Mount Sealing Plate !
I put this on a SIG P220 Match Stainless Elite. Neither SIG nor the mainstream vendors make a mounting plate so do that I had to have a custom mounting plate made (by Amerigun USA).

It was between this and the aimpoint acro p2 and I went with the gold standard RMR. I got this one more the aesthetic, but also wish I had the acro at the same time. The one I got was missing some screws, tool, and was clearly used by someone else and likely an Amazon return, but all of the core was present and accounted for so I went with it. WestCost Security, The lenses were smudged and there was a bit of dust in the projection port. After a good cleaning with camera lens cleaners, it was good as new. I put a brand new battery in it to be safe from rattling around in a box. My only other experience with these are holosun and eotech, which honestly are almost the exact same. The red is a bit bigger even though marketed as the same MOA. My setup is a cowitness so setting it up was very simple and only needed a couple minor tweaks upon validating. I don’t see it going out of spec and I am very confident with this setup. I put marks on the battery and a calendar reminder to replace annually. I am confident this unit will perform well for you as well.

Some of the reviews make this look sketchy.
But i see one consistent in them.
It was one seller and probably with the best price that was selling the fakes.
That seller has been kicked off.
I bought mine where the seller is amazon.
It came, and passed all of the various “is it a fake” tests.
The final, register it with trijicon.
Result = Pass!
I bought this to replace a vortex that came with my 509, that vortex wouldn’t hold a zero to save it’s own life.
I feel like it was just a bad one, however i needed something i could trust my life with, so i decided to go with the trusted trijicon.
It’s a pretty neat sight, so far the auto brightness feature is working well for me.
It’s also kind of a pain to shut the site off, i can imagine it would be impossible if you didn’t have a strong enough grip to press both buttons at the same time.

WestCost Security Team,
I have been a cop since 1990 and have been carrying a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro red dot on my Glock since 2015. I recently swapped to a Sig P320 M17 Bravo and decided to use an RMR on it instead. It was certainly a good choice. The RMR is a little smaller than my Leupold but it feels much more robust. Once it was mounted on my Sig I went out in the rain to train with it to see how it worked when wet. No problems at all. I even got some mud on it but that wasn’t a problem. With both eyes open I was able to superimpose the red dot where I wanted it to hit and it worked flawlessly even with the sight window being covered.
The only thing that I don’t like is that I can’t lock the brightness and it stay at that setting. After 8 hours it goes back to automatic setting. So far, inside and outside, daylight and darkness, the automatic setting has worked fine. However, I would like for it to stay at the setting I set it at without changing unless I want it to change.
One of the other things I did was add a Bobro backup sight mount to the weapon so I can add a suppressor height front sight and use them for backup sights. That is a big plus in my book.
The RMR is rugged and reliable. That is what you need in a gunfight or just to shoot better on the range.

WestCost Security. You guys made it right and I would love to slam the seller as it was shipped by them but the system will not allow for some reason.Trijicon RMR is a probably a great unit, I gave them a 5 because I have a ACOG 4×32 and it works great and it’s real. Good luck.

Thank you WestCost Security. This is the best
Beware of ABCD sales and if the unit looks like the photo’s attached it’s counterfeit. Never had a Trijicon unit so I had no idea till there was an issue and it failed.
