Description

Many shooters have to be careful to avoid investing in ammo with magnetic bullets. Maybe they’re complying with their local range’s ban on such bullets, concerned about steel’s impact on a barrel, or trying to avoid ricochets or accelerated damage to their backdrop. Unfortunately this typically means avoiding Wolf ammunition.

But thanks to this 7.62×39 cartridge by Wolf, you can now take full advantage of budget-friendly Russian-made ammo. This round’s 122 grain FMJ is jacketed entirely in copper, making it nonmagnetic and compliant with many indoor ranges’ ammo policies. It’s a conventional FMJ otherwise – smooth feeding, plenty accurate, low fouling, and cost-effective at the tradeoff of being unable to expand within soft tissue.

Wolf keeps costs down by loading steel cases instead of brass ones. They also polymer coat their cases for reduced friction and improved resistance to corrosion, although their cases are not worth reloading – especially since they have two flash holes instead of the single one a conventional Boxer primer requires. Wolf’s new production ammo is non-corrosive and loaded with low residue propellant.
